Youth Counselling
Youth can access counselling when they require individual support and intervention.
Why we do it...
The focus on addressing behavioral and mental health issues, mitigating risk factors and stabilizing the youth’s overall functioning.
How we work...
Our Youth Counselling service is free, confidential and voluntary. It is provided as part of an integrated network of outreach services that are tailored to meet the unique strengths, needs and circumstances of each youth referred to us, and their families.
Where we do it...
We provide counselling services to youth living in Anmore, Belcarra, Katzie First Nations Communities, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, and the Tri-Cities (Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody) areas.
What we do…
Through a series of sessions with our Counsellors, youth are supported in developing strategies to prevent conflicts from escalating in the future. Services are intended to be short term, typically no more than 6 months, although there are exceptions based on the unique needs of those served.
We also work with each youth to ensure they can access the additional supports they require and that these supports are coordinated and timely.
We accept referrals from probation officers and social workers working for the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). For Anmore, Belcarra and Tri-Cities referrals call 604 761 7060. For referrals in Katzie First Nations Communities, Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows call 604 476 2821.
