Family Care

Our youth family caregivers provide the housing component of our programs. Placements can be emergency or planned, short or long-term.

WHY we do it...

Our aim is to help young people, who may have significant behavioural and developmental challenges, begin to develop the attitudes, skills and relationships necessary for a future that doesn’t include involvement in the court system. And, by doing so, build their social competence through participation in the community, help them achieve a sense of autonomy, and gain a sense of optimism and purpose.

HOW we work...

Transition plans are developed in accordance with each youth’s individual strengths, needs and circumstances.

WHERE we do it...

We have homes throughout the Lower Mainland.

What we do…

We provide each youth with a safe, nurturing, staff-supported family home coupled with the one-to-one support of a youth worker. We also coordinate a variety of other resources including:

• medical and dental
• educational
• psychological
• counselling
• cultural
• recreational and vocational
• life-skills
