Parent-Teen Mediation
We provide mediation for families, including times when youth have left the home or are at risk of leaving home.
Why we do it...
The goal is to improve communication and create better understanding between youth and their families.
How we work...
Our Parent-Teen Mediation service is free, confidential and voluntary. It is provided as part of an integrated network of outreach services that are tailored to meet the unique strengths, needs and circumstances of each youth referred to us, and their families.
Where we do it...
We provide Parent-Teen Mediation in Anmore, Belcarra, Katzie First Nations Communities, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, and the Tri-Cities (Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody) areas.
What we do…
Our Counsellors provide a series of sessions to both youth and their families. Sessions may be individual or group depending on the needs of the individuals involved. These services are designed to be intensive and last no longer than 3 to 6 months.
We also work with youth and their families to ensure they can access the additional supports they require and that these supports are coordinated and timely.
We accept referrals from probation officers and social workers working for the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). For Anmore, Belcarra and Tri-Cities referrals call 604 708.2652. For referrals in Katzie First Nations Communities, Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows call 604 476 2821.
