Pride in the Park
Pride in the Park is the only public event celebrating LGBTQ+ pride in Maple Ridge. It’s a free family-friendly event that brings together community members for an afternoon of games, music, a BBQ, face painting, and other fun activities.
It began in 2016 as a way to bring Pride festivities closer to youth who participate in our other LBGTQ services in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows. Our Generation-Out and Trans Support Groups bring together youth aged 13 to 18 years who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, two-spirited or ‘questioning’. They provide a safe, positive and supportive space for youth to regularly meet and spend time together.
Every year, PLEA actively fundraises to host Pride in the Park to benefit our youth and the community.
We aim to raise $2000 to cover costs associated with rentals, decorations, food, prizes and swag.
Please give generously to support the youth we serve to explore and celebrate inclusivity and diversity.
