Parent Counselling

Our Parent Support Counselling services are aimed at parents and guardians who need some assistance managing their parental responsibilities and the youth are unwilling or unable to participate in counselling.

Why we do it...

The goal is to reduce the risk factors that contribute to antisocial behaviour, family breakdown and out-of-home placements.

How we work...

Our Parent Support Counselling service is free, confidential and voluntary. It is provided as part of an integrated network of outreach services that are tailored to meet the unique strengths, needs and circumstances of each youth referred to us, and their parents or guardians.

Where we do it...

We provide counselling to parents living in Anmore, Belcarra, Katzie First Nations Communities, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, and the Tri-Cities (Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody) areas.

What we do…

Our Counsellors provide a series of sessions to parents in their own homes except where their needs require a more neutral venue. Together they develop strategies to prevent conflicts from escalating in the future. These services are intended to be used as needed.  Our Counsellors also connect parents to additional services if required.

How to Access

We accept referrals from probation officers and social workers working for the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). For Anmore, Belcarra and Tri-Cities referrals call 604 761 7060. For referrals in Katzie First Nations Communities, Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows call 604 476 2821.
