Gen-Out
Gen-Out is a free, confidential and voluntary support group for youth aged 14-18 who are exploring gender and sexuality.
Why we do it...
Our aim is to provide youth with a safe, supportive, fun space where they can be themselves and explore their own gender, sexuality, identity and self-expression.
How we work...
The Gen-Out facilitators strive to tailor sessions to the strengths, needs and circumstances of those in attendance.
Where we do it...
The Gen-Out participants meet every Monday from 6:00pm – 8:00pm (in Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows) and 6:00pm - 8:00pm (in Tri-Cities).
What we do…
We provide a safe space to hang out and a group facilitator. Participants share their interests and work together to come up with weekly activities. Typical activities include bowling, crafts, pizza parties, board games, movies, guest speakers and peer support. The evenings often include a discussion on current events regarding or affecting the LGBT2Q+community. There are also opportunities for youth to discuss what may be going on for them.
