Youth and Family Support Program (FASD) The Youth and Family Support Program (FASD) is a partnership between PLEA and The Asante Centre for Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. The program is funded by MCFD and serves youth in the justice system and their families. Youth are referred to the program by probation officers in the Fraser and Vancouver Coastal Regions. The program offers FASD assessment and diagnosis and a range of community-based support services. The Asante Centre provides multidisciplinary FASD assessment and diagnostic services, education and clinical consultation. PLEA provides community-based FASD-specific support services for the youth and their families before, during and after the assessment and links these services with other PLEA programs. Together, the two agencies also provide a variety of educational and training opportunities on FASD. |
